If the collar stands above the desired height, simply trim the skimmer throat to size and the collar will neatly mask any rough-cut edges. Secure the collar at the correct elevation using heavy-duty tape before pouring concrete, but keep the lid itself separate during the pour. Once the concrete has cured and the lid has been filled, clean the collar interior and wipe down exposed plastic surfaces. Reseat the lid into the finished collar to create a strong, professional-grade masonry cover.
