Description
The HILLMAN FASTENERS 47666 is a coarse thread drywall screw designed for securing gypsum wallboard to wood framing. The 2.5-inch length provides adequate bite and holding strength for standard single-layer and double-layer drywall installations. These screws feature a coarse thread pitch suited for wood studs, allowing fast drive-in with a drywall screw gun or dimpler-equipped drill. This package contains 12 pounds of screws per box, making it a bulk supply option appropriate for production framing and finish crews on residential and light commercial projects.
This screw is used in standard interior drywall applications where wallboard is fastened to wood studs or blocking. The 2.5-inch length is a common specification for attaching 5/8-inch or double-layer 1/2-inch drywall to wood framing members. Drywall contractors, general carpenters, and finishing trades use this fastener in residential new construction, renovation, and tenant improvement work.
Key Features
- 2.5-inch length suitable for single and double-layer drywall applications over wood framing

Installation Notes
Installation should follow applicable building codes and drywall manufacturer fastener schedules for spacing and edge distances. Use a screw gun or drill with a drywall dimpler attachment to set screws flush without breaking the paper face. Drive screws straight and avoid overdriving, which can compromise holding strength. No special tools beyond a standard drywall screw gun are required for typical installations.
